How do I connect to the district VPN?

VPN Quick Start Guide

Out of District Installation

1. Launch a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc...), and navigate to https://vpn.wilmette39.org/.

2. On the GlobalProtect Portal login screen, enter your district user name and password, then click "Login".

  • Your user name is your district email without "@wilmette39.org".

 

3. Click the link called "Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent".

  • If prompted to Run or Save, choose Run.
  • If the file saves automatically, open the file when it finishes downloading.

 

4. Once the GlobalProtect Installer is running, click Continue.

5. Make sure that your selections match the ones below, and click Continue.

6. Click Install to begin the installation.

7. Enter the password for the account on your computer, and click Install Software.

8. When the installation has completed, click Close. The GlobalProtect app will open automatically after a few moments.

 

In District Installation

1. Open Self Service, and navigate to the Applications category.

2. Locate GlobalProtect and click Install.

3. When the installation has completed, the GlobalProtect app will open automatically.

 

ATTENTION! The following instructions can only be performed OUTSIDE of the district network. If you are connected to any WPS WiFi connection, these instructions WILL NOT WORK.

 

Configuring GlobalProtect

1. Enter your Username and Password, and check the box for Remember Me.

  • Your username is your district email without "@wilmette39.org".

2. For the Portal, enter https://vpn.wilmette39.org/, and click Apply to finish.

3. Once this is finished, click the  icon on your Tool Bar at the top of your screen, and click Connect to connect to the District 39 VPN.

 

Connecting to the District VPN

1. Click the  icon on your Tool Bar at the top of your screen to open a context menu.

2. Click Connect to connect to the District 39 VPN.

3. If a warning appears regarding a certificate, click Continue.

4. Close any notifications regarding Password Warning.

  • This simply informs you that your password does not expire.

5. The icon should now look like this. 

 

Disconnecting from the District VPN

1. Click the  icon on your Tool Bar at the top of your screen to open a context menu.

2. Click Disconnect to disconnect from the District 39 VPN.

3. The icon should now look like this. 

Notes

  • Your device must have an internet connection to use the VPN.
  • We do not provide support for issues regarding personal firewalls, hardware, or software.
  • Please contact the Manager of Technology Services if you have questions regarding your account name and/or password.
